Day 1 – Arrival in Bishkek & Ala-Archa National Park

Arrival at Manas International Airport. Private transfer to a premium 4–5 star hotel (Plaza, Bishkek Centrum, Evropa, Garden, Smart).
Morning: Rest and enjoy breakfast. Optional currency exchange and short city walk.
Afternoon: Drive to Ala-Archa National Park for a light hike amid snow-capped peaks and alpine rivers.
Evening: Welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2 – Burana Tower & Chon-Kemin Valley

Scenic drive (~3 hrs) to Chon-Kemin Valley, stopping at the Burana Tower, an 11th-century Silk Road minaret surrounded by ancient stone carvings.
Afternoon: Guided hike (2–4 hrs) through the valley’s contrasting landscapes—forested hills on one side, open steppe on the other.
Evening: Traditional dinner and warm hospitality at a family guesthouse.

Day 3 – Horseback Riding & Felt-Making in Kochkor

Morning: 2–3 hr horseback ride in Chon-Kemin, the most authentic way to explore Kyrgyz nature.
Transfer (~2 hrs) to Kochkor, a hub of Kyrgyz handicrafts.
Afternoon: Participate in a felt-carpet (shyrdak) making demonstration and shop for handmade crafts.

Day 4 – Journey to Son-Kul Lake (Nomadic Life on the Plateau)

Drive (~2.5 hrs) over the breathtaking Kalmak Ashuu Pass (3,446 m) to reach Son-Kul Lake (3,016 m).
Afternoon: Short lakeside walk (30 min) and optional 3–4 hr hike in the surrounding highlands.
Visit nomadic shepherd families and see horses, yaks, and sheep grazing freely.
Overnight: Yurt camp (Nomads Yurt or Ak-Say Travel)

Tip: Nights are cold—bring warm clothes.

Day 5 – Nomadic Adventures at Son-Kul Lake

Morning: 3–4 hr horseback ride in the rolling hills around Son-Kul.
Afternoon: Optional swimming in the lake or relaxing by the shore.
Overnight: Yurt camp (Nomads Yurt or Ak-Say Travel)

Day 6 – Issyk-Kul Lake & Yurt-Making in Kyzyl-Tuu

Drive (~2 hrs) via the spectacular 33 Parrots Pass down to Issyk-Kul Lake.
Stop in Kyzyl-Tuu, home of Kyrgyz master yurt makers. Participate in a yurt-building demonstration.
Afternoon: Walk to the lakeshore for a refreshing swim or take a short hike through the colorful Badlands.
Evening: Enjoy a traditional folklore show.
Overnight: Elestet Yurt Camp (private toilets/showers)

Day 7 – Eagles, Fairy-Tale Canyon & Barskoon Gorge

Morning: Swim in Issyk-Kul Lake.
Late morning: Witness an eagle hunting demonstration with a local falconer and try your hand at archery.
Visit Skazka (Fairy-Tale) Canyon for a 1-hr trek among surreal sandstone formations.
Continue to Barskoon Valley. Short hike to its waterfall.
Overnight: Movilla Barskoon Yurt Camp / Cottage

Day 8 – Jeti-Ögüz & Karakol City

Visit Jeti-Ögüz Gorge (Seven Bulls) and hike (~2 hrs) to a panoramic viewpoint.
Afternoon: Explore Karakol City—Russian Orthodox Church, Dungan Mosque, and the lively bazaar.
Overnight: 78 Hotel or Karagat Hotel, Karakol

Day 9 – Altyn Arashan Hot Springs

Adventure ride by Soviet 6×6 A/C truck to Altyn Arashan Gorge, famous for hot springs, alpine meadows, and pine forests.
Guided hike (2–5 hrs) through mountain landscapes with snow-capped peaks.
Return to Karakol in the evening.
Overnight: Karakol hotel

Day 10 – Kyrchyn Gorge & Cholpon-Ata

Drive (~1.5 hrs) along Issyk-Kul’s northern shore to Kyrchyn Gorge, once the main venue of the World Nomad Games.
Continue to Cholpon-Ata (~1 hr).
Afternoon visits: Ruh Ordo Cultural Complex and the open-air Petroglyphs site.
Final swim in Issyk-Kul.
Overnight: Hotel in Bosteri

Day 11 – Return to Bishkek

Drive (~3 hrs) back to Bishkek, with a short stop in Balykchy.
Afternoon: Free time for shopping at Osh or Dordoi Bazaar.

Day 1

Karakol – Enilchek (Length: 150 km

Duration: 5-6 hrs driving with 1 hr hiking

Description

Day 1

Departure from Karakol before 9:00 AM, traveling to Engilchek via Turgon Gorge (approximately 150 km). Along the way, enjoy scenic views of Turgon Gorge, the Peaceful Water River, and Chong-Ashuu Pass. After driving for 2-3 hours, you will stop at Turgon Gorge for photo opportunities and a hike to see Peaceful Water, spending around an hour there. Experience the beautiful landscapes and local culture of the gorge.

Further along the route, you can stop at the picturesque Bakaluu Lake (meaning “lake with lots of frogs”) and spend about an hour there. By evening, you will arrive in Engilchek. In Engilchek, you will stay at the ranger’s house, where three meals a day are provided. After settling in, you can enjoy wildlife sightings, including argali, at Kuba’s house.

Following the hike, gather for a picnic lunch with all tour participants, including guides and guests, providing an opportunity to get to know the team. After lunch, drive for around 2-3 hours to Enilchek village. Upon arrival, stay in the ranger’s house, cook dinner, and spend the first night surrounded by mountains. In the evening, hike the surrounding hills of Enilchek village.

Day 2

You will drive towards At-Jailoo Pass and get dropped off at the entrance of the pasture next to the river. From there, you will hike approximately 20 km into the At-Jailoo mountains, where you can set up camera traps and possibly spot wildlife such as bears, ibex, wolves, архар, and even snow leopards. A picnic lunch should be organised. After hiking for around 4-5 hours, you will return to Enilchek Guesthouse. Dinner will be provided and an overnight stay.

  

Day 3

You will drive to Kayingdy, a journey of around 4 hours and upon arrival at the ranger’s house you start horseriding to Uch Chat and camp in the Uch-Chat.

Day 4

You will ride horses to Uch-Chat Pass for wildlife sighting and to enjoy the natural scenery. Afterward, you will return to Kayingdy and stay overnight at the ranger’s house.

Day 5

You will drive to Karakol, covering a distance of 170 km in approximately 5-6 hours.

Some information about the Khan Tengiri State Nature Park

Khan Tengiri State Nature Park is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most notable protected areas, established to preserve the unique natural and cultural heritage of the region. Here are some key details about the park:

Day 1: Bishkek

Pickup from Manas International airport and drive to our guesthouse in Bishkek, the vibrant capital of Kyrgyzstan. O/n at a guesthouse

Day 2 : Bishkek

In the first half we set out on a hike in the picturesque Ala- Archa National park, which gets it’ name from the namesake river which flows through the park. Spanning over 165 sq. kilometers with an altitude ranging from 1500 to 5000 meters, this stunningly beautiful park will offer a great introduction to the landscapes of Kyrgyzstan.

In the second half we will explore the capital city , visiting the State History museum , Poebda square, Ala Too square and the bustling Osh market. O/n at a guesthouse

Day 3: Bishkek to Kochkor

In the morning visit the Burana Tower, an 11th century minaret. Over here we will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Silk route. We will also visit an open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors).

By afternoon reach Kochkor and check into our guesthouse . Thereafter we will participate in a Shyrdak demonstration. A shyrdak is a stitched wall or floor carpet made out of felt from sheep wool. Pattern and motifs play an important part in the shyrdak, holding information  about the maker and history. The motifs also visualise blessings and wishes for well-being of the receivers by the makers. It epitomises the skill of the Nomadic people, portraying a bog part of their culture.

Day 4: Kochkor to Song Kul

A three hour drive will get us to Song-kul, one of the highlights of our trip to Kyrgyzstan. Words are inadequate to describe the beauty of this turquoise lake located at an altitude of 3016 meters. After lunch at our Yurt camp we walk along the shore line, absorbing the tranquillity and beauty of the place.  O/n at a Yurt Camp

Day 5 : Song Kul

Horses form a big part of the Kyrgyz cultural identity, being home to six different breeds including the indigenous Kyrgyz horse. At one point of time horses denoted the wealth of a family, and were used for transportation, warfare, traditional games and food.  Even today they play an important role in the day to day life of the nomadic people.

Hence any trip to Kyrgyzstan would be incomplete without a horse back trek experience. And that is exactly what we set out to do today. We set out on a 4 hour horse back ride over undulating mountains with grand views of Sonk Kul lake . In the second half relax around our yurt camp or go for a short hike around the camp. Day 6: Song Kul to Issyk Kul

Today we continue driving to another popular lake Issyk Kul. Covering a surface area of 6000 sq. kilometers , it feels more like an ocean than a lake.   The lake passes through a great variety of landscapes, ranging from semi arid deserts to the lofty Tien Shan mountains making for a unique eco system.

Post breakfast we drive to Kyzyl Tuu village on the southern shore of the lake where we will see an interesting demonstration on how Yurts are made. This will be followed by a traditional lunch with a local family. Post lunch we set out for a three hour easy hike to enjoy panoramic views of the lake. O/n at Village Guesthouse

Day 7: Issyk Kul to Karakol

One of the unique customary traditions of the Kyrgyz nomadic communities living around Issyk Kul, is Eagle Hunting . Practised since hundreds of years this art showcase a strong relationship between the hunter and the Golden Eagle. In the morning we will see a live demonstration of Eagle hunting and interact with the hunter to learn more about this unique practice.

Thereafter we drive to Karakol, the gateway to central part of the Tien Shan mountain range. On the way we will visit Jeti-Oguz , a picturesque canyon named after seven red rock formations that resemble bulls. In the evening we will go to a local café for dinner with live traditional music.  O/n at a Guesthouse

Day 8: Trek Akk Su to Yurt camp 1

Today we start our three day trek in the Tien Shan range which translate to “Mountain of the Gods”. Traversing through China, Kazakhstan, Uzebekistan and Kyrgyzstan it covers a length of 2900 kilometers. 

After breakfast we drive up for around an hour through Turgon Ak-suu valley, to the start point of our trek. From here we start walk through a picturesque meadow strewn with wild flowers. The initial part of the walk is through bog and marshy terrain so good waterproof shoes are a must. The route steadily climbs by through the fir forest till we reach Boz Uchuk Ashu Pass (3430 m ) . From here we will hike up to two alpine lakes.

Day 9: Trek – Yurt Camp 1 to Jergez

Today we continue your walk to Jergez camp crossing an unnamed pass at 3516 meters. If the day is clear then we will get good view of Tashtambek-Tor-Bashi Peak. For those who are upto it we will hike up further to Ailanysh lake at  3432 m. O/n at Yurt camp

Day 10: Trek Jergez to start point – Karakol drive

It is a long day of descent as we follow the same path down to the glacial stream from where we started our trek. From here drive back to Karakol where we relax and unwind. O/n at a guesthouse

Starting at Boo-Zhetpes Guest Houseexperienced local Community BasedConservancy (CBC) rangers will lead youthe way to the newly built observationplatform with a fantastic view over Chon-Kemin National Park and its wildlife.Equipped with telescopes and binocularsyou will be acquainted with the flora andfauna of the region. The tour takes aboutsix hours in total, two and half hours ofriding per way and one hour atobservation platform.

You are likely to see Ibex, Roe Deers, RedDeers, Wild Boars, Bears and manyfascinating bird species. Even the SnowLeopard and Lynx are present in the areaand can be seen on our camera traps.
